Meet the Candidates: Moshe Wasserman

Moshe Wasserman

Desired position in Student Government

YSU Secretary

Bio:

Why are you running for this position on student council?

Moshe Wasserman, Class of 2014, was born and raised in the Teaneck/Bergenfield, NJ area. He is a 2009 graduate of MTA and spent two years studying in Israel at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh, and at Yeshivat Yishrei Lev in Telzstone. This coming Fall semester will be the beginning of his third year on campus at Yeshiva University. Moshe's favorite TV show is Seinfeld and enjoys spending time hanging out with friends.

What experience do you bring to this position?

I am running for YSU Secretary because I feel I can help bridge the gap between the many different types of students in our student body. I will try to accomplish this by helping implement a few types of school wide run events. These events will hopefully bring enthusiasm and excitement, creating a vibrant and fun environment for all students.

What, if any, other leadership commitments are you taking on next year?

Moshe has served on the board of many clubs such as Medical Ethics Society, Public Health, YU Chessed, HAAP, and has also been involved with Project START and Literacy Program. He has run events with each of the clubs. Some of the major events Moshe has run over his time at YU were the Genetic Screening/Panel event, MES Conference - "Out of the Ashes", Shabbaton at Albert Einstein Medical School, and Bioethics Journal Club Events for MES.

How many credits do you plan on taking next semester?

13

At YU, I...

I live in a YU dorm, I live within five blocks of the YC campus, I eat at least half of my meals in the caf, I have attended courses outside Yeshiva University, I have not faced any disciplinary action from Yeshiva University, I do not have a criminal record nor have I been arrested

Why should students vote for you over any other candidate?

I think students should vote for me over the other candidates because I have shown experience on how to run major events on campus. I also have been on different club boards and know what it takes to do a job right and efficiently and be able to work with different types of people.
